A Mischief Of Magpies

If the Sun were the size of a beach ball then Jupiter would be the size of a golf ball and a Mischief of Magpies would be as small as a pea.

A Fool To Give A Damn...............

........................But what the hell!

Do not allow this into your home. Ok, I know you only have to sell a few hundred thousand cd's to get into the top forty and not much more to get a number one, but when they hold talent shows to dig up this excerable sub karaoke bollocks, then I really must object. We all buy shit records from time to time, usually on impulse but we do so because we genuinely like something about it, because it has a hook or a catchy chorus. A week later, it's lying in a corner somewhere, never to be played again. Such is the throwaway nature of much pop music, and I can live with that, celebrate it even.

This cannot be said about Shayne Ward's No1 single, "That's My Goal" It has to be the least memorable song ever committed to plastic. Nothing remotely tacky, tasteless or fabulous about it. Dull MOR bollocks aimed at people who foolishly consider themselves too old for Girls Aloud but think David Gray is a bit too challenging. What people are buying is the plucky winner of a tv talent show not a pop song. To anyone that bought it and is currently wondering what to do with their purchase, cd's make fine coasters, ashtrays and frisbees.

Welcome to the holocaust of banality that is 21st century Britain.
